Memory is selective; it draws upon reality, but is transformed by the individual. No two people can have the same memory, but through joint remembrances we become connected to each other and to the past. Over time a combination of experiences will be remembered and embellished, while others are forgotten. I am interested in presenting fragments of the past, which I have found meaningful and hope to connect to the viewer. Through this connection, I want people to be comforted by their past, as well as their future. A few of the objects presented are directly connected to my memory; while others are symbols of the past holding traces of memories that should not be forgotten.
